GERMAN DIOCESE: 15 May, 2026
The Supplementary Menaion of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad is published

At the Monastery of St Job of Pochaev in Munich, Germany, a unique book has been published, the Supplementary Menaion of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad.

The publication includes services for all saints glorified in the diaspora of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as other services characteristic of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad but absent in the regular Menaions.

The history of the creation of the book is quite remarkable. Work on it began back in the early 1990s, but was subsequently suspended for various reasons. In 2024, the work was resumed and successfully completed in time for the celebration of the centennial of the German diocese.

The entire book is set in the "Prorok" font, which was developed and refined over many years by the Archbishop Agapit (Gorachek) of Stuttgart, who passed away in 2020.

The edition is decorated with ornaments created in the second half of the 1940s in post-war Germany in the form of typographic clichés. The monastery brethren worked on them to make new prints, which were later carefully restored by hand and digitized.

The Supplementary Menaion will be distributed through church shop set up at the new monastery in Seifriedsberg and in Munich. However, orders can already be sent to the address:
