The 7th annual Church Musicians' Conference in London concludes
The seventh annual Church Musicians’ Conference, organized by the All-European Church Music Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, successfully concluded its work with the singing of Divine Services at the London Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs on the Sunday of St Tatiana.
The conference, which this year was on the theme "On the Centenary of the Repose of A.D. Kastalsky: Kliros singing today — from reality to the ideal," was held from 22nd – 25th January, 2026, during which more than 35 participants from across Europe were educated by lectures on notable historical and practical topics, as well as through workshops on liturgical singing, conducting, the Obikhod and services cycles of the Church, and many other aspects of her musical life.
As has been the custom at each of the annual conferences, the labours of the participants culminated in the singing of all-night vigil and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the weekend in the Diocesan Cathedral. The amassed voices of the singers beautified the Divine Services, providing many participants also with the opportunity to conduct and put into immediate practice the skills honed during the conference.
