Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), the clergy and monks of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission participated in the patronal feast of Holy Trinity Cathedral

On Monday, June 9, 2025, the feast day of the Holy Spirit, which is celebrated as the main holiday of the Russian Ecclesiasticaal Mission (Moscow Patriarchate), His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine, presided over the Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Mission.

His Beatitude was joined by hierarchs of the Jerusalem Patriarchate: His Eminence Metropolitan Kyriak of Nazareth; His Eminence Metropolitan Isichios of Capitoliada; His Eminence Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, Secretary General of the Jerusalem Patriarchate; Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev), Head of the REM; Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia; Archimandrite Theophil (Anastasij), representative of the Romanian Orthodox Church at the Jerusalem Patriarchate; Hieromonk Nikon (Golovko), Deputy Head of the REM (MP); Protopresbyter Miroslav Vitiv, Dean of the Mission’s residences; Protopresbyter Nikolai Zhdanov; Hieromonk Ambrose (Ignatov), cleric of the Gorny Convent in Ein Karem; Hieromonk Innokenty (Bespalov); Hieromonk Peter (Borodulin) and Deacon Makariy Petukhov of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Greek- and Arabic-speaking clergymen of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, and pilgrims in holy orders from Georgia.

Praying at the cathedral during Liturgy were Mr AD Viktorov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Israel; Mr YG Yaroshevich, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Israel; Mr Dimitrios Angelosopoulos, Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem; Hegumeniya Judith (Zastavskaya), Abbess of Ascension of the Lord Convent on the Mt of Olives in Jerusalem along with the sisters of her monastery; Russian-speaking believers from the Holy City and surrounding towns; representatives of the Apostolic Nuncia and the Custodia of the Holy Land, as well as pilgrims from different parts of the Holy Land.

The service was conducted in Church Slavonic, Greek, Arabic, Romanian, and Georgian, as reports the official website of the REM (MP). The choir of the sisters of the Gorny Convent performed the hymns of the Divine Liturgy.

After Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Theophilus congratulated Archimandrite Vassian and the guests and pilgrims. In his response, Archimandrite Vassian thanked His Beatitude for the joint prayer in the Cathedral of the Mission and for the long-standing and fruitful support to the REM in fulfilling its ministry. Then, His Beatitude and Archimandrite Vassian exchanged memorial gifts.

Next, the gathering proceeded from Holy Trinity Cathedral to the administrative building of the Mission, where a festive reception was held.
