Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York safely returns from the Holy Land

On Friday, June 6, 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, safely returned from the Holy Land to New York. While in the Holy Land, His Eminence conducted services at the Ascension of the Lord Convent on the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, at the Convent of Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles, in Russian Gethsemane, and at other churches of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia), venerated the Life-Giving Tomb of the Lord, Golgotha, and other holy sites, and met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine, along with the clergy and the monastics of the holy monasteries.

On the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, Metropolitan Nicholas presided over Divine Liturgy at the Mt of Olives, during which Sister Judith, appointed by the Synod of Bishops as the Abbess of the convent, was elevated to the rank of hegumeniya.

On Sunday, June 8, on the Feast of the Holy Pentecost, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas will conduct festive services at Holy Trinity Church in Vineland, NJ, and the next day, feast of the Holy Spirit, at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.
