Bishop Tikhon of Ishim and Aromashevo buries Bishop Evtikhy (Kurochkin)

On Wednesday, 30 November, 2022, the funeral of the newly-reposed Bishop Evtikhy (Kurochkin) took place in the city of Ishim.

Divine Liturgy was celebrated at 8 am at Epiphany Cathedral, led by His Grace Bishop Tikhon of Ishim and Aromashevo, along with diocesan clergy, the Patriarchal Metochion of Ishim, and the Omsk and Kurgan Metropoliates and the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District. The Epiphany Cathedral choir sang, and the many spiritual children of Bishop Evtikhy offered their prayerful send-off.

After Liturgy, the clergy commenced performing the funeral service. Vladyka Tikhon passed on the condolences of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Vladyka Evtikhy’s friends and relatives, and to the parishioners of the cathedral. Bishop Tikhon then delivered a eulogy for the reposed hierarch, whom he had known for over 40 years. Vladyka noted the invaluable spiritual contribution the late bishop made in the life of the people of Ishim and his efforts in the restoration of local churches.

Vladyka Evtikhy was buried behind the altar of Epiphany Cathedral. A commemorative trapeza luncheon was then offered with some 300 participants.
