The Eminent members of the Synod of Bishops greet the body of the blessedly-reposed Primate of the Russian Church Abroad

On Thursday, 19 May, 2022, the feast day of St Job the Much-Suffering, His Eminence Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany greeted the coffin containing the body of the late Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady "of the Sign" in New York, and performed a funerary litiya. His Eminence was joined by His Eminence Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America; His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada; His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan; Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem; Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Dean of the Cathedral; Archpriest Serafim Gan and Hegumen Evtikhy (Dovganiuk), along with Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff, Protodeacon Eugene Kallaur, Protodeacon Nathan Mousseli, Protodeacon Denis Lvov and Hierodeacon Panteleiomon (Jigalin).

Following the service, the reading of the Gospel over the body commenced.

At 6 pm, there will be an evening service followed by a pannikhida.
