His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Meets with His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion

On July 30, 2014 , His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia received His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, at his residence in Danilov Monastery in Moscow.

Also meeting were His Eminence Metropolitan Ilarion of Volokolamsk, President of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate; His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Egorievsk, President of the Financial-Administrative Office of the Moscow Patriarchate; Archimandrite Ioann (Roshchin), nominated to be consecrated Bishop of Naro-Fominsk and Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA; and Protopriest Peter Holodny.

His Holiness proposed discussing the state of Orthodox Christianity in various nations of the world, and to make plans for coordinated missionary work.

“The most important thing is for our joint efforts to help Russian Orthodoxy blossom in all the nations in which it is present, bearing in mind that with every year, more and more Russians live in the Far Abroad,” said His Holiness.
