Holy Trinity Monastery's 75th Anniversary Celebrations Scheduled for Early September

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the celebration of the feast day of St Job, Hegumen and Wonder-worker of Pochaev, is scheduled for Sunday, September 4, 2005 (on the eve of Labor Day), at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. Also celebrated will be the monastery's 75th anniversary, which Metropolitan Anastassy (Gribanovsky, +1965) of blessed memory called the "Lavra Abroad" and "our spiritual fortress."

Anniversary Program

Wednesday, August 31, the Namesday of His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia

5 am: midnight office at the monastery Cathedral.

6 am: Greeting of His Eminence the First Hierarch followed by Divine Liturgy.

8 am: breakfast at the monastery refectory.

Saturday, September 3:

3 pm: Greeting of the miracle-working copy of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God along with a moleben and akathist to St Job at the monastery cathedral.

6 pm: dinner.

7 pm: All-night vigil with a litia and polyeleos.

Confessions heard on the eve and morning before Divine Liturgy.

Sunday, September 4:

6 pm: Early Divine Liturgy in the lower Church of St Job.

9 pm: Greeting of His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery, followed by Divine Liturgy in the monastery cathedral, which will include the participation of the Bishops of the Synod of Bishops, the monastic brethren and Seminary teachers in the priestly rank, and many visiting clergymen. At the end of Divine Liturgy, a moleben will be conducted to the Most-Holy Mother of God and St Job, with a procession of the cross and a general trapeza for all the participants. After lunch, a reception at the "skete" of His Eminence the First Hierarch.

7 pm: Dinner.

7:30 pm: minor compline and pannikhida for the reposed brethren of the monastery.

Monday, September 5 (Labor Day):

8:30 am: Divine Liturgy at the monastery Cathedral.

A photo exhibit will open at Holy Trinity Museum with images of the monastery's life and history.
