Orthodox Youth from America visit Belarus

On May 29, 2019, a reliquary containing the arm of Holy Grand Duchess Elizabeth and Nun Varvara arrived in Minsk, Belarus. Accompanying the relics was a group of representatives of the Prince Vladimir Youth Association from the United States. The aim of the organization is, by example and through the legacy of Grand Prince Vladimir, Gatherer of the Russian Lands, to unite Russian youth across national borders through strengthening national self-identity, culture and their native tongue.

The John the Theologian Brotherhood organized a meeting between the American delegates and Orthodox youth of Minsk.

The event took place in the residential premises of Holy Spirit Cathedral. Members of the brotherhood and representatives of Orthodox youth of Minsk participated.

The young people from America spoke about the work of the association in the United States.

After the meeting, an evening excursion through Minsk was arranged. The next day, after the celebration of Divine Liturgy, the kids were given the opportunity to ascend the bell tower of the cathedral. The youth was then taken by members of the brotherhood to Minsk Theological Academy.

The Americans liked the fact that the youth of Minsk has a tradition of singing at all holidays. They noted that song truly brings people together.
