NEW YORK: December 8, 2015
The Primates of the Russian Church Abroad Will be Prayerfully Commemorated on the Eve of the Feast Day of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign"

To mark the 50th anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Anastassy (Gribanovsky) of blessed memory and the 30 th anniversary of the death of Metropolitan Philaret (Voznesensky), a pannikhida service will be held at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” in New York on December 9, 2015, the eve of the feast day of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign.” Participating will be the members of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, who are convening for a regular session, as well as the cathedral’s clergymen and choir. Afterwards, all-night vigil will commence.

The next morning, the greeting of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, will be at 9:30 am, followed by Divine Liturgy.

Clergymen and the faithful of the parishes and monasteries of the Eastern seaboard of the USA are invited to participate in the celebrations and delve into the history and legacy of the Russian Church Abroad, remember the late primates and venerate the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God.
