NEW YORK: August 20, 2015
Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York Celebrates Divine Liturgy on the Transfiguration of the Lord at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” in New York
On Wednesday, August 19, 2015, the feast day of the Transfiguration of the Lord, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” in New York City.
During the minor entrance, His Eminence awarded Protopriest Vasily Raskovsky the palitsa, and Deacon Denis Lvov the double orarion. Both clergymen serve at the Synodal Cathedral.
At the end of Liturgy, Metropolitan Hilarion read a sermon on the holiday and congratulated all on this feast day, wishing them communion with the Divine Light which once illuminated Mt Tabor.
