Giving the decree to Fr Elias, His Grace congratulated him on his new appointment and wished him, his family and parish blessed success and heavenly aid in serving God and mankind. Speaking of Fr George, who has served at this parish for over 46 years but is now hospitalized, Bishop Nicholas expressed the deep gratitude of the hierarchy to him, his wife, Catherine, and their entire family for their devotion, patience and many years of zealous service to the church, wishing them the all-powerful aid of God in their work to benefit Protection Parish, as well as good health and boldness of spirit.

After a luncheon organized by the parish sisterhood, a general parish meeting was held, presided over by Bishop Nicholas. That evening Vladyka Nicholas visited Fr George in the hospital. Some of the members of the Synod of Bishops, which is convening this week in New York, will visit Fr George and congratulate him on his namesday, which falls on Wednesday.
