Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan Participates in Divine Liturgy at Saint Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York

On Sunday, March 29, 2015, the fifth Sunday of Great Lent and feast day of Saint Mary of Egypt, His Grace Bishop John, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, and His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, Vicar Bishop of the Eastern American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at Saint Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York along with the cathedral clergyman.

After the reading of the Gospel, Bishop John delivered a sermon. After augmented litany, the archpasto read a special prayer for peace in Ukraine.

After the service, Bishop John warmly welcomed Bishop Nicholas and asked that he relay his gratitude to His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern American and New York for his cooperation and blessing to conduct joint services between the Patriarchal parishes and those of the Eastern American Diocese. In response, Bishop Nicholas thanked Bishop John for the joy of joint prayer and wished him, his clergymen and flock divine aid in continuing to observe Great Lent.

Their interaction continued after divine services as they shared thoughts on continuing cooperation between the Patriarchal Parishes and the Eastern American diocese.
