Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York Celebrates Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in Butovo Square (Photo-Report)

On Friday, August 8, 2014, the feast day of victims of the massacres of “enemies of the people,” known as the Great Terror in Russian history, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia on Butovo Square, Moscow. His Eminence, who is leading a pilgrimage to the holy sites of Russia, was joined by Protopriest Kirill Kaleda, Rector of the church, and visiting clergymen. At the end of the service, Metropolitan Hilarion performed a litiya at the burial site of the Martyrs.
