The Western American Vicariate in Seattle Marks the 75th Anniversary of the Great Consecration of St Nicholas Cathedral

On Wednesday, December 19, 2012, the feast day of St Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, officiated at 75th-anniversary celebrations of the great consecration of St Nicholas Cathedral in Seattle, WA. Present at the event was the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God, the Protectress of the Russian diaspora. His Eminence was joined in the services by His Grace Bishop Theodosius of Seattle, Vicar of the Western American Diocese; Protopriest Alexei Kotar, Senior Priest of the cathedral; Archimandrite Irinei (Steenberg); Priest Nicholas Olhovsky, caretaker of the Kursk-Root Icon; Protopriest Nikolai Kaleda of the Belarussian Orthodox Church, as well as other clergymen of various Local Orthodox Churches and the Western American Diocese,

After Divine Liturgy and a moleben with procession of the cross, the Russian Center in Seattle hosted a reception.
