SAMARA, RUSSIA: September 17, 2012
Samarans Venerate the Main Holy Icon of the Russian Church Abroad

On September 17, 2012, at 7 pm, a great holy icon of Orthodoxy, the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God “of the Sign” will be brought to Protection Cathedral in the city of Samara, Russia. The miracle-working icon will remain in the region until September 23: from September 17-22, it will be at the Samara cathedral, on September 23, it will be brought to Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in the city of Tolyatti. From there, the icon will be taken to the city of Kursk.

The holy icon is accompanied by a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia headed by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, and its caretaker, Priest Nicholas Olhovsky, cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” in New York and member of the Synodal administrative staff.
