Bishop Jerome of Manhattan Ordains Clergymen for the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA on the Annunciation

On Lazarus Saturday, April 7, 2012, the feast day of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop Jerome of Manhattan celebrated Divine Liturgy at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign in New York along with its clergymen. At the request of His Eminence Archbishop Justinian of Naro-Fominsk, and with the consent of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, who is on an archpastoral visit to Australia, Vladyka Jerome ordained Deacon Alexei Paraniuk to the priesthood, and Subdeacon Mark Roshkoff to the deaconate. At the end of Liturgy, Bishop Jerome congratulated the new clergymen of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, and also Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff, long-time clergyman of the Cathedral, who was celebrating the anniversary of his own ordination.

Follwing that was a trapeza shared by the clergymen and worshipers, organized by the parish sisterhood.

The following day, Palm Sunday, Bishop Jerome visited Intercession of the Holy Virgin Church in Glen Cove, NY, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy, during which he awarded Priest Alexander Antchoutine the gold cross on the 10th anniversary of his ordination to the deaconate. Before the veneration of the cross, Vladyka Jerome congratulated all in attendance on this holiday, which leads the faithful into Passion Week and the Pascha of Christ. He also congratulated Fr Alexander on his anniversary. The parishioners then shared a trapeza with the visiting hierarch.
