It was with great sorrow that we received news of the death of Metropolitan Laurus of blessed memory, the long-time helmsman of the Russian Church Abroad. 

Metropolitan Laurus was an exemplary Church figure, who not only preserved the purity of Orthodoxy in the diaspora, but participated in the unification of the two branches of the Russian Orthodox Church. 

We will preserve his memory as a zealot for the unity of the Church. 

We pray for the repose of his soul. Eternal memory to him!
