On April 1, the Entrance of the Lord into Jerusalem, His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland, Administrator of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America, elevated Deacon Vadim Gan to the rank of Protodeacon during the minor entrance of Divine Liturgy at Holy Protection Cathedral in Chicago, IL. The same day, His Grace bestowed his blessing upon the creation of a Cathedral brotherhood.

On April 30, Protopriest Peter Selenoi, who had gone into schism, returned to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and was received by Bishop Peter through repentance. Because a representative of the "Mansonville schism" had recently visited the Church of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," where Fr Peter had conducted his service, His Grace read the corresponding prayers and sprinkled the church with holy water. By ukase of His Grace, Protopriest Peter Selenoi is assigned to St Sergius of Radonezh Cathedral in Cleveland.

On May 6, the day of St George the Great Martyr, retired Protopriest Paul Karas, the founder and long-time Rector of St Vladimir Church in Ann Arbor, MI, reposed in the Lord.
