A Pastoral Retreat of the Diocese of Eastern America and New York to be Held From March 7-9 at St John the Baptist Cathedral

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus, a Pastoral Retreat of the Diocese of Eastern America and New York will be held at St John the Baptist Cathedral on the third week of Great Lent. The following lectures are scheduled:

“Rules for Performing the Mystery of Baptism,” Mitred Protopriest John Townsend, Rector of St Mary of Egypt Church, Atlanta, GA.

“Orthodox Pastoral Ministry in the 21 st Century,” Protopriest Victor Potapov, Rector of St John the Baptist Cathedral, Washington, DC.

Other church matters will also be discussed. The Retreat will be highlighted by the hierarchal Divine Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts on the days of the First and Second Finding of the Head of St John the Forerunner. The divine services and the Retreat itself will be headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus.

On the Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross, His Eminence will also officiate at Divine Liturgy and will ordain new clergymen for the Cathedral.
