His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus Heads the 75 th Anniversary Celebration of Holy Trinity Cathedral

On November 27, 2005, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia officiated at the celebration of the 75 th anniversary of Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Los Angeles. An enormous gathering of worshipers attended Divine Liturgy, headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus. His Eminence also served all-night vigil on the eve of the holiday along with His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland, Administrator of the Diocese of Cleveland and Detroit, the Rector and clergymen of the Cathedral and other visiting priests and deacons. After all-night vigil, the Cathedral sisterhood offered a bountiful trapeza meal. During minor entrance at Divine Liturgy, the Cathedral's Rector, Protopriest Alexander Lebedeff, was awarded the mitre for his exceptionally zealous service, while Priest Christopher Horsley was awarded the nabedrennik . After the solemn services, a concert and banquet was held at the hall of the Greek Cathedral of St Sophia, attended by the First Hierarch, the archpastors and serving clergymen, His Grace Bishop Tikhon of the OCA and other local clergy.

The following day, His Eminence continued his archpastoral visits to the parishes of Southern California.
