Bishop Gabriel of Manhattan Meets With the Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York

On December 6, on the feast day of St Alexander Nevsky, Bishop Gabriel of Manhatten kvisited the Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York, Sergei Victorovich Garmonin. During the warm and amicable meeting, His Grace and Sergei Viktorovich spoke of the forthcoming visit of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God to St Nicholas Cathedral on December 12. The Protectress of the Russian Diaspora will be brought in time for the beginning of divine liturgy, after which a moleben and akathist will be served. After the services, the Icon will be returned to the Synodal Cathedral.

In his parting remarks to Sergei Viktorovich, His Grace Bishop Gabriel invited him to visit the Synod of Bishops and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign.

Protopriest Andrei Sommer, the Senior Priest of the Cathedral, and V.K. Galitzine, the Cathedral Warden, also participated in the meeting.
