Letter from Bishop Alexander of Buenos Aires and South America on His Health and Gratitude for Prayers

Dear Fathers and Friends in Christ:

Once again I thank you for your prayers for my health!

Now I feel much better. On Monday, 26 January, I spoke with my oncologist at Kaiser Hospital. He recommended a course of chemotherapy which would completely remove all traces of cancer. The procedure, it is expected, will give me a 74% chance of recovery and a normal lifestyle. My treatment will consist of a 5-day period of chemotherapy every month, followed by a 3-week hiatus. The duration of the treatment will be 6 months in all. The doctor hopes that the side effects of the chemotherapy will not be difficult, although they will be unpleasant.

This means that over the next six months I will not be able to travel great distances and visit the parishes of my diocese.

I leave everything in the hands of God and hope that He restores my health for the benefit of the Church.

Please continue your prayers for me!

May the Lord bless you!

With love in Christ,
+Bishop Alexander
